How to Use Your Digital Journal

Your journal is an interactive PDF with clickable tabs and pages. To write in it and use the hyperlinks, you’ll need a free note-taking app or PDF reader.

On iPad (recommended)

  • Best option: GoodNotes (free version)

    • Open your journal in GoodNotes.

    • To use hyperlinks: switch from the pen tool to the hand icon (Reading Mode / Tap Tool) at the top right of the toolbar.

    • In Reading Mode all tabs and links work. Switch back to the pen when you want to write.

  • Other option: Notability

    • Writing works, but hyperlinks may not always work correctly.

On Android tablets or phones

  • Use Xodo PDF (free).

  • Hyperlinks and writing both work smoothly.

On computer (Windows or Mac)

  • Use Xodo PDF (free) or Adobe Acrobat Reader (free).

  • Hyperlinks work and you can type directly into the journal.


Quick tip for all devices:
If hyperlinks don’t work, make sure you’re in reading/view mode, not writing mode. Writing mode treats taps as drawing, while reading mode lets you click links.
